Watercolor Paintings

In The Studio

Nancy in the Studio

I paint in watercolor and acrylic on paper. My work  has a vibrant sense of place and light. The paintings are saturated with color. I use layers of transparent paint and allow pigments to spread, mix and mingle.

My painting is inspired by places that I have been. When looking at my work, people are often reminded of their travels, their homelands, a street they have walked down or a view they have seen. Often the viewer remembers their experience of a place that is similar to the one that inspired the work.

I am a Signature Member of the New England Watercolor Society, a Distinguished Artist Member of the Concord Art Association and a juried member of the Cambridge Art Association. I am a member of the Board of Directors of Somerville Open Studios. I was part of the founding committee for the First Annual Somerville Open Studios Event, and Director for the citywide event in its second year.  My work has been exhibited in a number of juried shows and galleries.

I live and work in Somerville, MA. I am a registered architect. My clients have ranged from individual homeowners to the Smithsonian Museum. I am also a certified gold and silver jeweler. Over the past eight years, I have dedicated more of my time and energy to my art.
